More than 90 retail businesses in Tring will open their doors in support of Christmas Shop Local Sunday.
The initiative is being organised by Tring Together, a charity supporting the community, along with I Love Tring Retail, a recently formed group of shop owners enthusiastic to promote the town.
The event on Sunday, December 13, also aims to raise awareness of the shops beyond the High Street borders, such as Western Road, Miswell Lane, the Old Silk Mill trading estate and London Road.
Tring Shop Local Sunday will run from 11am to 4pm and will feature live music and a competition encouraging people to explore different shops.
Entrants will need to present receipts from five different shops in Tring on that date, with at least one from a business in Western Road, Miswell Lane or the Old Silk Mill. Visitors can win a goodie bag with items donated by various shops.
Entry forms will be available from the Tring Together stall on Church Square on the day.
For children there will be a treasure hunt organised by Anne Chatterley and entry forms will be available from the Save the Children charity shop.
Also taking place on the day will be the judging of the best Christmas Shop window display by the Mayor.
A leaflet is now available which lists all of the retail shops in the High Street and beyond which will be distributed at Tring Shop Local Sunday and available after the event at local businesses and information points.
Tring businesses also supported the wider UK initiative Small Business
Saturday which took place on December 5.
