Police are urging residents to be aware after they received six separate reports of windows being smashed.

The incidents – which happened in Highfield, Hemel Hempstead, between January 2 and January 14 – include windows on four homes, one car and St Paul’s Church on Solway.

The house and car windows were targeted in Cambrian Way, Hidalgo Court, Cattsdell and Queensway.

PCSO Tom Ross, from the Hemel Hempstead Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “All of the incidents apart from one took place overnight.

“We have increased our patrols in this area, but so far no one has been caught and we only tend to find out about the incidents the following morning.

“We need people to be on the alert and report any suspicious activity or noises immediately, so we can send officers to the scene as soon as possible.

“This kind of mindless vandalism is completely unacceptable and we are determined to catch those responsible.”
