Tring Park student Kaine Ward – a contemporary and ballet dancer – starred as the lead role in the musical adaptation of the hit film about a miner’s son who has a flair for dancing from 2011 to 2013.

The 15 year old started his stint at the Victoria Palace Theatre when he was just 11, and has gone on to appear recently in the televised dance talent contest Got To Dance, where he made the final.

Kaine, who is now studying for his GCSEs, has returned to London for rehearsals with past and present Billy Elliot cast members, for a special performance which will be streamed live into cinemas across the UK.

The show will even be screened at Hemel Hempstead’s Empire multiplex at 2pm and 7pm this Sunday – the first and only day the stage musical has ever made it to cinemas.

Kaine, who won a scholarship to Tring Park School for the Performing Arts five years ago, will be one of 27 former Billy actors taking part in a ‘mash-up finale’ at the end of the performance.
