Spring has sprung at town’s annual fayre

This year the event, which was organised by Tring Together, focused on nature, wildlife and wellbeing.

Spring lambs, baby chicks and fluffy bunnies formed a pop-up farmyard where families were able to get up close and personal with the animals.

Local stall holders were on hand to talk about free guided walks in the area, as well as sports taster sessions to encourage people to get active.

Nature-lovers could sign up to badger watching, pond dipping and dawn chorus walks as well as get advice on gardening and planting.

The day saw the launch of the popular photographic competition in association with The Natural History Museum of Tring and sponsored by chartered accountants The Cook Partnership.

If you want to enter, you need to:

> take up to five photos of Tring in spring, the countryside, wildlife, or spring events

> print your photos with a maximum size of A4 – remember that all entries will be exhibited, so you want it to be good quality!

> complete an entry form, found on the www.tringtogether.org.uk, and add a caption describing each photo you submit

Entry closes on Wednesday, May 20 and need to be dropped off or sent by post to Beechwood Fine Foods at 42 Frogmore Street, Tring, Herts, HP23 5AU.

All entries will be judged in three categories: Under 16, 16 & over and professional photographers.

Among the three category winners, a public vote will decide on the overall champion.

Voting will be possible from June 1 to 11 at the Natural History Museum in Akeman Street, Tring.
