A wintry mix of sleet and snow showers made their way into the region overnight, with the possibility of causing icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
Snow accumulations of 1-3cm have occurred, though many places nearby will have missed the snow due to its showery nature.

An increasingly cold northeasterly wind is to affect eastern and central England, but the skies will brighten with some afternoon sunshine expected over Dacorum

later on.

Overnight, snow flurries will again affect the area, likely to leave another dusting in places by dawn with a minimum temperature of -1C.

Colder than average conditions will persist until the weekend, with widespread overnight frost, low daytime temperatures and cold winds, especially in the eastern region.
