Six new parking bays will be created in a bid to ease car congestion in a busy street.
A small green at the end of Sacombe Road in Warners End is being sacrificed to make the spaces.
Nine local residents were consulted on the plan but no responses were received from them either in support or opposition to the proposal, which was granted planning permission at last Thursday’s Development Control Committee.
An informal parking area is already in operation adjacent to the green .
Herts Highways, which reported that the road ‘suffers with high levels of on street parking’, noted that during a site visit there were 13 cars parked there and three cars were blocking the footpath.
