FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to around half a dozen floodings in Hemel Hempstead caused by the cold snap.

Homes in Fennycroft Road, Hobbs Hill Road, High Street and Piccotts End have all suffered burst pipes in the past week because of freezing temperatures.

One property in Alexandra Road was left water-logged on Sunday night.

Crew commander Mark Mannell said: “It flooded her whole flat and water came out of the door and down the stairs.

“We’ve had lots of floods. They’re all burst pipes.”

Across the county there were around 90 floods over the weekend caused by frozen pipes.
