Georgina Hoffman, 10, faced the hairdressers on Saturday and now she’s ditched her long plaits in favour of a fresh bob hairstyle.

Her hair and the sponsorship money will go to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for sick youngsters who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

On her fundraising Just Giving page, Georgina, of Berkhamsted, said: “I heard about this charity from my god-sister and I felt sorry for children who lose their hair because they have cancer and I have a lot of hair and thought I could help.”

Town centre hairdressers Zen did Georgina’s haircut for free in support of the charity.
