Richard ‘Bonkers’ Brash, 40, who owns IT company Brash Solutions in Berkhamsted, will cover 2,740 miles of the English, Scottish and Welsh mainland coast in 28 days, starting at Bournemouth pier on Saturday.

He is tackling the
quadrathlon to raise money for the Berkhamsted-based Pepper Foundation, which provides free nursing care to children with life-limiting

Mr Brash, who lives in Little Gaddesden, said: “Many people have asked me why I’m doing this challenge. I hope to inspire people to set themselves goals many would
consider impossible to reach.

“I am incredibly lucky to have a healthy family and I am very aware of those less fortunate.

“I have huge admiration for the children and families
Pepper cares for.”

The father-of-two lives with his wife Penny and their children Jamie, seven, and four-year-old Annabelle.

It is not the first time Mr Brash has taken part in such an event, as he’s done Tough Guy Challenges, Mud Runner events and two other challenges for Pepper.

He said: “Training for the challenge has been tough while juggling the running of his business and spending time at home, but I am focused on the amazing work that Pepper does for these families.
