More than 40 young people who take part in projects, from raising money for charity to supporting vulnerable people, received awards at a ceremony last Tuesday at County Hall in front of parents and carers.

Richard Roberts, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, presented the awards.

He said: “Who could fail to be impressed with these young people? Their efforts are making a real difference and their achievements are an inspiration to us all.

“My thanks also go to Youth Connexions staff who help to bring out the best in these young people.”

The awards event took place during National Youth Work Week, with a theme this year of Skills for Life.

All those who were recognised for their hard work have acquired and developed skills which will be with them for the rest of their lives.
