Residents enjoy a hair-raising experience

A popular care home handyman has had his hair and beard shaved off in front of staff, residents and their families.

Dennis Rutter, who is due to retire from Queensway House, in Hemel, in a couple of weeks, Braved the Shave in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The social event, with tea, coffee and cakes made by activity co-ordinator Tracey Rogers, raised over £400 for the charity.

Manager Christine Larner said: “We made an afternoon of it.

“The residents are very fond of Dennis.

“He will be much missed.”
