The county goes to the polls on May 4, and anyone who wants to have their say must register before Thursday, April 13.

Registering is an easy process which can be done online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You can register to vote, apply for a postal vote, or update your details by contacting your local district or borough council. You can also find out how to stand as a councillor.

All 78 seats at Herts County Council will be up for election this May, as well as one by-election for Dacorum Borough Council and another for Flamstead Parish Council.

Since the last election, there have been changes to some of the areas that councillors represent. This includes an extra division and changes to the names and boundaries of some divisions.
