Real life Rapunzel will donate 16 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust

A seven year old girl will have 16 inches cut off her long blonde hair to help other youngsters who have lost their locks due to illness.

Bethany Champ has combined her hair donation to the Little Princess Trust with raising cash for the cause, which provides wigs to children suffering hair loss.

She busted her online fundraising target of £100 within a day and now the Berkhamsted youngster has raised almost £550 for the cause.

Mum Sadie Clarke, who has spent hours washing, drying and plaiting Bethany’s hair, said: “She wants to go quite short to a bob.

“I was a little bit anxious at first but it’s just hair, her hair will grow. I’m just really proud of her.”

Bethany, who goes to Westfield Primary School, is planning to wash cars to raise more money before having her haircut on February 27.

Ash Hairdressing in High Street has agreed to do the deed for free.

Mum of two Sadie, of Sheldon Way, Berkhamsted said: “She is really excited. She has been telling everybody. She keeps standing in front of the mirror and putting her hair short and saying she is going to puff it up with her hands.”
