Radio station celebrates three years with special live broadcast

Community station Radio Dacorum celebrated its third birthday with a worldwide live online broadcast from the Old Town Market. 
The channel, run by Community Action Dacorum, first hit the airwaves in 2012 from its purpose-built studio in Grovehill. 
The station now boasts almost 60 volunteers ranging from 13 to 70 years old.

Station manager Matt Hatton said: “The station has grown far beyond our original expectation of half a dozen presenters.

“Now not only does Radio Dacorum boast a large team of excellent local presenters and broadcasters but is now supporting young people with special needs, or who have barriers to work experience orvolunteering to actually get the skills they need in communication and confidence.”
