Ainsley launched a challenge earlier this year for care homes to come up with an innovative dining experience for residents that can be sustained in the years ahead.

The competition, which involved residents, their families, staff and the wider community, was run between all care homes in Water Mill’s group.

Water Mill’s Good Old Fashioned Carvery won a first prize and received a visit from Ainsley, who sampled the restaurant-style carvery and presented a top-of-the-range gas barbecue for the residents to enjoy in the summer months.

The carvery service can be delivered in the home’s bistro or on any of the three floors, so less mobile or bedbound residents can enjoy the experience too.

All the home’s staff are involved in serving the three-course carvery meals to residents, to create a fine dining experience.
