Police officers met with town centre shoppers to share a wealth of crime prevention advice.
PCSOs from the safer neighbourhood team were joined in Marlowes on Friday by Neighbourhood Watch liaison officer for the area Patrick Beynon.
PCSO James Cook said: “We were handing out purse bells which are attached to a purse and help alert shoppers if someone tries to steal it, as well as panic alarms.
“We were also advising people about how to protect themselves and their property. It was a successful event, with 20 people signed up to Neighbourhood Watch during the day.”
There are currently more than 9,500 households signed up to Neighbourhood Watch in Dacorum alone.
