Planning the future of travel throughout Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire County Council’s contractor AECOM will be sending out 12,000 questionnaires and travel diaries to a random selection of households from September 14.

And the responses will help to shape future policy, including the next Local Transport Plan for transport improvements, be used to predict future travel demand and design transport schemes, and will help to identify future problems with accessibility.

The data will be used only for transport planning.

Councillor Terry Douris, cabinet member for highways, said: “Hertfordshire has one of the largest highways networks in the country with 3,000 miles of roads.

“Planning ahead to improve this network is a vital part of our work. The travel survey plays a significant role in this and will be used to provide information to enable us to predict future travel demand and identify problems with access to transport.

“If your household receives a survey form, please complete it to let us know what you think. You can do this either online or return it in the envelope provided.”
