£3,000 prize up for grabs for schools and youth groups in Dacorum
The competition closes on July 9
Students parents and their carers in Dacorum have until Friday, July 9, to help win £3,000 for their school or youth group thanks to a competition being run by Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
Young people have been hit hard by the pandemic and now more than ever need to know where to access information to help make decisions about their future career paths, training and skills development options.
To help spread the word about the free to access skills portal, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership is offering £3,000 to the school or youth group that registers the most young people, their parents and carers on Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal - www.hopinto.co.uk - by Friday, July 9.
Already over 1,300 new users have registered on HOP, the county’s premier gateway connecting young people to future employment, apprenticeship and training opportunities.
The push is on to reach the target of 1,500 new registrations before the competition closes.
The school or youth group with the most individual registrations on HOP will be awarded £3,000 to spend on careers education resources.
The prize will be presented in person on Thursday, July 15, by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ and Chair of the LEP’s Skills and Employment Board and Chair, Stevenage Development Board Adrian Hawkins OBE.
Adrian Hawkins OBE said: “This competition presents a fantastic opportunity to signpost young people to available sources of advice and support on our skills portal. Where there is HOP, there is HOPE!”
The competition is open to all state secondary schools and youth groups with students or individuals registered on the HOP website. The judge’s decision is final.
