Police crackdown on speeding in Dacorum

Police have been targeting speeding in Dacorum after receiving feedback from the Community Voice platform and recent Live OWL chats.

Local Safer Neighbourhood officers visited several locations last Thursday after their planned speed enforcement was cancelled due the torrential rain on the Wednesday.

Speed awareness checks were carried out at the following requested locations - Boxted Road, London Road, Bourne End, London Road, Markyate and St Albans Road A414.

In total, 14 warnings were issued by officers.

In addition one driver was stopped after being recorded doing a speed of 52mph in a 40mph zone, officers also a found 6 month old baby sat unsecured on a passenger's lap in the back of the vehicle.

The driver was subsequently reported for both speeding and driving whilst having a child under 3 unrestrained in a motor vehicle.
