The Lodge in Hemel Hempstead, and Ashlyns Care Home in Berkhamsted have created poppy displays to pay tribute to the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Staff and residents at The Lodge, in Hemel Hempstead, have been busy making lots of poppy's for the care home's poppy display. They have cut, stuck and painted poppy’s galore. This is a subject close to the residents' hearts as they have lived through this and have stories to tell from being in the Army, Navy and RAF to being evacuated to Wales. Joan Franklin one of the residents at The Lodge said: “Having relatives in the last two wars it’s nice to remember them and by doing this poppy display has made us proud to be British.” The Lodge has also set up a just giving page to raise money for The Royal British Legion. Staff and residents at Ashlyns Care Home, in Berkhamsted, have also paid tribute to the fallen, this a tradition that the care home upholds with pride during this difficult time and this year is no different.
