A man was taken to hospital after he was freed from under a vehicle following a road traffic collision in Tring this morning (Tuesday).

Police were called at around 10.20am today (Tuesday) following a collision in Forge Car Park, High Street, officers attended, alongside Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the East of England Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "It was reported that a man had been struck by a vehicle in the car park on Market Place and was potentially left trapped.

"The man was freed and taken to hospital to have his injuries assessed."

The East of England Ambulance Service sent one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Stoke Mandeville Hospital for further care.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 10.28am this morning to a report of person stuck under a vehicle following a road traffic collision in Forge Car Park, High Street, Tring.

"The fire engine from Tring was sent to the scene, where they found that the person had already been released.

"The crew provided some assistance to the ambulance service who were caring for the casualty, and had left the scene by 10:40."
