Joy for golfers as Whipsnade Golf Club re-opens

Golfers were delighted as Whipsnade Golf Club re-opened today (Wednesday) after weeks of closure during the coroanvirus lockdown.
Nick Brazil and Paul Brockhurst were the first to tee off at the Whipsnade Park Golf Club, in Dagnall, at 8am this morning (Wednesday).

Hide AdIn the latest update, the Government announced that golf courses in England can re-open from today, Wednesday May 13.
Players can play with members from the same household or one player from another household, providing there are social distancing measures.
Phil Abbott, golf professional, said: "We are really pleased to be open after such a long lay off, our members have been eager to get back out there.
"We border Whipsnade Zoo, so on some of the holes you get a view of some of the animals.

Hide Ad"It's only two players per hole and there is now a ten minute gap between each tee off to ensure that players are able to maintain social distancing.
"It's an 18 hole golf course and we have made sure that players are able to maintain the government guidelines of social distancing."
