The Metro Bank team in Hemel Hempstead joined Home-Start's The Great Pancake Flip-Off on Pancake Day - a virtual alternative to the traditional St Albans Pancake Race.

The Hemel Hempstead team - led by store manager, David Byrne - and the team from Metro's St Albans branch, joined the virtual flip-a-thon fundraiser raising more than £600.

The teams were also joined by the Bank’s mascot, Metro Man, who had his frying pan at the ready.

Metro Bank also held their own pancake competition across its 77 stores with colleagues able to enter three different categories, ‘Best Flipper’, ‘Weird and Wonderful Toppings’ and ‘Highest Pancake Stack’.

Home-Start Herts delivers high quality, volunteer led services to support families through challenging times. It helps parents grow in confidence and enjoy positive family relationships.

The charity has been operating in Hertfordshire since 1983 and over time developed a network of nine local schemes.
