A spokesperson for the school said: "On Wednesday, January 27, a pupil at the school went home with a headache and he ended up having to be rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital with a bleed on the brain.
"He was successfully operated on and is home now and doing okay but we wanted to do something to raise money for this amazing hospital, and thank the NHS staff for acting so quickly and taking him to that hospital.
"The response to the page has been amazing, we have already gone past the original target."

"He is such a love, bouncy lad, just full of joy, so resilient and his recovery is just amazing. He truly is a great lad. He deserves all the credit for why I'm doing this.
"I cannot fully express how amazing the team at Great Ormond Street are, and as a member of a community school I want to push myself to do something out of my comfort zone, to raise money for this amazing hospital.
"I'm also so grateful to all the quick response teams that actually worked so quickly to deal with this incident.
