Two children from Hemel Hempstead, who raised over £1,000 for Age UK earlier this year, have received Hero of Hertfordshire awards.
Nine-year-old Maizie Bevan and her brother Harry, seven, raised over £1,000 for the charity's Coronavirus Emergency Appeal, by running laps of their garden in Fields End, in April.

The money was used to help take care of elderly people who are isolated and alone during the coronavirus outbreak.
Their mum Lisa said: "Harry wanted to raise money for elderly people who were self-isolating, he was unable to see his grandparents and knew how hard it was for them as well and wanted to do something help.
"His sister then wanted to join him and they came up with the idea themselves and then I helped them by creating the fundraising page and by raising awareness of them.
"Maizie run the first 550 laps of the garden with Harry which took the whole day then Harry continued alone over the next few days until he reached 1060 Laps on May 1, in total Harry run over half a marathon!

"I asked Harry and Maizie why they wanted to do the run and they said to raise money for our elderly community and they said that it made them happy to do something for someone else."
They raised £1,160 in total for Age UK, and have both received a Hero of Hertfordshire award from The Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire for their service to the people of Hertfordshire.
Lisa added: "We are not sure who nominated Maizie and Harry for the award so they were extremely surprised to receive it through the post.
"We are of course hugely proud of them both as the fundraising was all their own idea.

"They were shocked they didn't expect it at all, it was lovely, and they were overwhelmed by it.
"Both Richard and I are extremely proud of Maizie and Harry’s efforts to help our elderly community!
"They are certainly our little heroes!"
