Lockers Park Pre-Prep pupils kicked off the Summer Term by taking a closer look at the classic English fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk.

Year 1 pupils were tasked with creating their very own magic beanstalk at home, as well as writing a detailed book review as part of their English work.

Undeterred with having to school its pupils remotely, both Lockers Park Pre-Prep and Prep School, in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, have quickly adjusted to the art of remote teaching, adapting learning programs and embracing new technologies to minimise disruption to pupils and their families.

Headmaster Christopher Wilson said: “It’s a challenging time for us all, but I have been hugely impressed by the way in which pupils (and their parents) the length and breadth of the school have quickly adapted to the new virtual classroom.

"Staff are working hard to conceive and develop engaging resources, committed to ensuring pupils gain the most out of our remote offering and our wonderful parent community is connecting all the dots at home to guarantee its success.”

And while Lockers Park’s school buildings are closed, the school is open virtually with one-on-one video calls available for prospective parents to speak with Mr Wilson and other key members of staff.

Lockers Park is a day and boarding school for boys aged 7-13 with a Pre-Prep for boys and girls aged 4-7. For more information about the school visit: www.lockerspark.herts.sch.uk.
