With many fundraising events cancelled this year, Herts Young Homeless invited golfers to set up their own challenges to OutDrive Homelessness this summer.

The charity set up the challenge to raise money to help them continue to deliver essential services to those who are homeless in Hertfordshire.

Through sponsorship, David has raised £3,395 (including Gift Aid) for Herts Young Homeless.

He said: "When I planned to play 4 rounds of golf in one day, I wasn’t anticipating the temperature to peak at 34 degrees and then to dodge bolts of lightning at the end of the afternoon, however I was delighted to have raised such a huge amount of money for such a great local charity and would like to thank everyone at Stocks Golf Club and all my friends and family for their generous sponsorship.

"For once in my life I’m glad I’m not playing golf again the next day!”

Caroline Neill, fundraising and communication manager of Herts Young Homeless said: "David has done an incredible job, by taking part in our OutDrive Homelessness Golfing Challenge.

"We are so grateful to David and to everyone who has supported him in this challenge.

"The need for our services is greater than ever this year and these funds will enable us to continue providing our vital services to young people facing homelessness in our local area.

"We would love to hear from any other golfers or sports people who might like to take on their own challenge – see our website or email [email protected] to find out more."
