The Christmas gift delivery was part of the hospital's charity campaign, Raise A Smile, which was collecting donations for staff and patients.

Jon Andrews, from Dacorum Motorcycle Riders, said: "The charity Christmas gift run to the hospital this Saturday has to be cancelled, I'm really gutted but it can't be helped.

"This hasn't beaten us and we are planning to do this bigger and better for the hospital when we are allowed to.

"This gift run will still go ahead, and we will deliver gifts to patients in hospital, just not this weekend."
