Council installs CCTV cameras to deter fly-tippers after cleaning up 'dumping ground' in Hemel Hempstead
and live on Freeview channel 276
Dacorum Borough Council’s Waste Services recently cleared an area of Bennetts End in Hemel Hempstead that had become a dumping ground and eyesore.
The area of Kimps Way including the rear of Bennettsgate, houses on Bennetts End Road and Howe Road had been used to dump mattresses, furniture, hardcore (bricks, rubble etc) wood, fridges and other household waste before a team from Clean, Safe and Green removed the unwanted rubbish.

The council’s Environmental Enforcement Team have now arranged for the installation of CCTV cameras that are constantly monitored and hope these cameras will deter anyone dumping in this location.
The Enforcement Team will be paying close attention to the area and will take action against any offenders caught flytipping.
Offenders who dump waste can expect to be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £400 or be prosecuted for flytipping which is a criminal offence under The Environmental Protection Act 1990.
To dispose of bulky waste items please contact Dacorum Borough Council - www.dacorum.gov.uk/bulky-waste.
