NHS staff at Hemel Hempstead Hospital have received 'items for care' packages from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire 3 Company's cadets.

Last year, Beds and Herts 3 Company's cadets and adults collected 'items for care' packages which they sent to the Irish Guards.

These arrived in time to be opened last Christmas and were very well received, with the Guards replying with letters and assorted gifts for cadets.

The cadets began collecting to send follow up packages to the troops, but due to the Guards being recalled back to the UK, they were never sent.

Due to the current situation, 3 Company decided to pass the items onto local hospitals, St Peter's Ward Hemel Hemsptead, Midway Ward and Holywell Ward, Garston.

Sgt Rob Tillotson, Detachment Commander - Hemel Hempstead, said: "The Matron would like to pass on her thanks to all the Cadets that donated as it is the perfect gift right now as many patients do not have anyone who can bring them toiletries at the moment.

"Very well done and a big thank you to all who collected and donated!"
