An assisted living facility in Berkhamsted has been thinking outside the box to brighten up the home's garden and make residents smile during coronavirus pandemic.

Ashlyns Care Home wanted to make the grounds look nicer for residents when they walk around them, this week they painted spare tyres into colourful creatures.

A spokesperson from the residential home said: "We aim to make the grounds interesting for our residents to walk round.

"Especially in these strange times, when family members are not allowed to visit. So we put unusual items with flowers in.

"This really cheers them up on their daily walk outside.

"The ladybug and bumble bee were the bright idea of the care manager Kelly Huxtable. Great idea to use old spare tyres."
