Reporter Victoria Bull has been asking people in Hemel Hempstead town centre what the first song they bought was.

Bill Watts, Bennetts End:

When compact discs first came out the first one I bought was probably the Pink Floyd album The Division Bell (1994). It’s still a favourite of mine today.

Vivienne Silk, Berkhamsted:

I wouldn’t actually remember my first, but we’re quite into Ed Sheeran at the moment. I like modern music.

Gillian Melton, visiting family in hemel hempsteaD:

It was a record and it was the Motown track Band of Gold by Freda Payne (1970). That was my music taste at the time, but now it’s more R’n’B.

Brian Silk, Berkhamsted:

Heartbreak Hotel by the king, Elvis Presley (1956).
He was the greatest singer there’s ever been, I still have all his tracks. He’ll never die with me.

Richard Brawn, Bennetts End:

That’s going back a bit. I think the first tape I bought was Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill album (1995). I still listen to it now – all the songs are on my iPod.
