Lee Whitehill, Boxmoor:
‘I am from Scotland and my little boy Jem, five, cried when he found out Scotland might be leaving the United Kingdom. It is great to be British.’
Donna Weeks, Hemel Hempstead:
‘I am glad Scotland voted to remain – even if it was almost 50/50 – but the repercussions of this split will go on for years. It could get messy.’

Anita Crawley, Hemel Hempstead:
‘It is what it is – at least the people got a chance to vote!’
Tom Lainton, Old Town:
‘I am pleased with the no vote. If anybody asks me where I’m from, I always said ‘the UK’ and I will continue to do so. We are definitely better together.’
