Vox Pop: How do you feel about Scotland’s decision to remain part of the UK?

Here’s what social media users had to say about the result of the Scottish independence referendum.

Lee Whitehill, Boxmoor:

‘I am from Scotland and my little boy Jem, five, cried when he found out Scotland might be leaving the United Kingdom. It is great to be British.’

Donna Weeks, Hemel Hempstead:

‘I am glad Scotland voted to remain – even if it was almost 50/50 – but the repercussions of this split will go on for years. It could get messy.’

Bev Barnett, Hemel Hempstead:

‘I’m a Scot and proud, but it doesn’t mean I would’ve voted yes. It might’ve been different if it was well thought through but I don’t think it was.’

Anita Crawley, Hemel Hempstead:

‘It is what it is – at least the people got a chance to vote!’

Tom Lainton, Old Town:

‘I am pleased with the no vote. If anybody asks me where I’m from, I always said ‘the UK’ and I will continue to do so. We are definitely better together.’
