The historic Olde Kings Arms hotel and pub in Hemel Hempstead’s recently revamped Old Town was named Most Improved hotel by a Laterooms.com poll.

The accolade from the online accommodation site is part of the only hotel awards based solely on genuine guest reviews.

The inn’s manager Elliot Mandry said: “We’re over the moon, it’s extra special because it’s voted for by customers.

“It’s the little things, like finding them a cab or carrying their bags that we do extra.”

The 2015 ‘Simply The Guest’ awards were hosted by comedian Alex Brooker and live streamed on the LateRooms.com website from The Savoy hotel in London.

The annual awards uses guest reviews and ratings published on the Laterooms.com website to recognise the standards of hotels in the industry.

When posting their review, guests can rank the accommodation in detail with categories including customer service, cleanliness, food and room quality, value for money and family friendliness.

Simply The Guest host Alex Brooker said: “The Olde Kings Arms has proven it is a ‘cut above’ over the last 12 months having been consistently highly rated by guests who have stayed there.

“It was a pleasure to be able to recognise the hard work of the whole team at the hotel and I hope this official LateRooms.com shout out goes some way to rewarding everyone involved.”
