Children from Yewtree Primary School have been helping to showcase the importance of building site health and safety at one of Hemel Hempstead's biggest construction projects.

Five-year-old Oliver Sells won a poster design competition which is displayed on the hoarding around The Forum, the borough’s new shared services hub on the corner of Marlowes and Combe Street.

Set to open in early 2017, the purpose-built, energy-efficient building will bring separate community services under one roof, including Dacorum Borough Council and the library.

The Forum is a key feature of the Hemel Evolution regeneration programme and has replaced a number of outdated old buildings.

Builders R.G. Carter took more than 20 Year 1 pupils on a tour of the site in October and hopes to welcome them back soon to see the progress made.

Other schools wishing to arrange a site tour or a careers talk at school should contact project manager David Fenqick on 01442 252740 or [email protected]
