East of England Ambulance Service locality director Dave Fountain said: “It is a proud day to be opening a new ambulance station for the residents of West Hertfordshire. We have been supported every step of the way from staff, esidents, stake holders and our MP Mike Penning. I would like to thank everyone as locality director for their efforts.”

The station will provide a better facility for staff to work from as well as being a useful base to respond to patients locally.

Mr Penning said: “It is a pleasure to see a new ambulance station in Hemel Hempstead. Following the Buncefield incident, I strongly feel that all emergency services should work hand in hand to provide the best care possible to the public and this station highlights that message.”
