Monday July 18. An open verdict has been recorded following the death of a Hemel Hempstead computer expert who overdosed on anti-depressant pills.
An inquest at Hatfield Coroner's Court heard that Neil Gardner, 50, of Valley Green, died on March 8 this year and had been suffering from depression for some time.
Mr Gardner, who worked creating complex computer programmes, had been prescribed medication to tackle the illness but was taken to Hemel Hempstead Hospital by ambulance after being found on his bathroom floor on March 8. Despite resuscitation attempts Mr Gardner died at around 5.47pm that day.
