A mum from Tring is to run the London Marathon to help asthma sufferers - which includes two her sons.
Sarah Johnson is hoping to raise £2,500 when she tackles the city route at the world famous event in April.
Married with three sons and a stepson, it is her eldest and youngest who have asthma and because of this Sarah is running as a member of the Asthma UK team.
She said: “I have been training for a few months although that has now intensified with just 15 and a half weeks till the big day itself.
“Training is going really well, mileage is increasing nicely and I have now started my marathon intensive training programme.”
Sarah said: “Life with Asthma can be tough, it can make you feel rotten and it is often misunderstood. William, 3, has had hospital visits with bad chests and breathing troubles since he was five weeks old and is now on a preventative inhaler and tablet medication. Thomas was diagnosed more recently as he entered his teens and he is also on a preventer inhaler. Both have to use a reliever inhaler from time to time and both have been hospitalised due to their asthma.
“I am proud to be running the London Marathon as a member of Team Asthma UK, raising awareness and funds. William and Thomas have had fun supporting me in my running and fundraising challenges so far, with Thomas even joining me on a 5k fun run.”
