Muddy challenge is in memoriam of Paul

Eleanor Keohane’s husband Paul, 52, passed away at the Hospice of St Francis in June following a bravely-fought battle against cancer.

Now the mum-of-four, from Rectory Lane in Berkhamsted, will tackle the hospice’s Mud Pack Challenge on the Ashridge Estate to raise money for the charity which cared for her husband in his last months.

The 43-year-old said: “We are so proud to be taking part as a team in Paul’s name. There’s going to be lots of smiles, lots of mud, loads of fun and a huge amount of teamwork helping each other round.

“The level of care and love and support that Paul received there was just amazing. He’d been nervous about being admitted but within hours, I could see him visibly relax and after two days, he woke up euphoric and pain-free for the first time in many months.”

The couple’s four daughters – Freya, 13, Ursula, 12, Madeline, 10, and Cordelia, six, – continue to be supported by the hospice.

They aren’t yet old enough to take part in the Mud Pack Challenge, but will be cheering on their mum and her team mates on October 18.
