Memories of new town move recorded

The Dacorum Heritage Trust has been gathering people's memories of Hemel Hempstead during the 1950s New Town era, for a Heritage Lottery-funded project.

Clips of the oral histories can be heard on a new website called www.talkingnewtowns.org.uk

The memories have also inspired work with animation company Planet Jump, to bring the stories alive in an animation which offers a glimpse into the experiences of two Londoners moving out to Hemel during this time.

The heritage trust is also currently working with schools to complete education packs, which will be available from www.talkingnewtowns.org.uk from next month.
