PC Martin Anderson, who fights crime by responding to emergency 999 calls in Dacorum, has now completed 10 runs in his 56 marathons feat for Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

The 35 year old has taken on the challenge to raise £10,000 for the charity that helped his mother Sylvia Blake to die at her home in Bennetts End.

He took part in the weekend’s Ashridge half marathon and a Berkhamsted half marathon route back to back to complete his 10th marathon.

Martin said: “I’ve got a bit of a sore ankle, but I survived - 10 down, 46 to go!”

On Sunday, June 28 the police officer is putting on a music event at Olly’s Bar in Hemel Hempstead’s town centre.

The Walk This Way Festival will run from 1pm to 8pm with music from McVicar, The Vaulted Skies, Emma McGrath, Callum Fletcher, Neil Stanton and Stolen Horse.

More acts are due to be confirmed in the run up to the event.

Martin puts on a music event every year in aid of the good cause, but says this will be the biggest one yet.

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased via the website www.walkthiswayfestival.co.uk.
