A man is due to face court today charged with firearms offences after an incident in Hemel Hempstead.

Skip Grant, 34, of Widford Terrace, in Woodhall Farm, was arrested yesterday and subsequently charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence.

The charges relate to an incident in which a weapon was fired at a house on the estate’s Coleridge Crescent last Monday, March 23.

The gun was discharged to the outside of the property, causing damage to the house, but no-one was injured in the attack.

After the shots were fired, a man got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

A 28 year old woman from the town has also been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm without a certificate in connection with the attack and has been freed on police bail until April 24.

Police have reassured the public that they believe the incident was targeted and that no other residents have anything to fear in the wake of the attack.

Grant is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court today.
