M25 closure: Motorway to be shut for up to seven hours after accident leaves carriageway covered in rotting vegetable waste

Motorists are being urged to avoid the M25 following a lorry accident that has left the motorway covered in rotting vegetable waste.

The busy road is expected to be closed for up to seven hours along the clockwise carriageway between J20 for Kings Langley and J21 for Bricket Wood to allow the clean up operation to take place.

Vegetable waste was splattered across the motorway after a 44 tonne lorry was involved in a collision with a silver Volkswagen Polo.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene just after 10.30am today (Friday).
