Literary success for Hemel carer

Lyndsey Curtis, aged 39, works as a caregiver for the Home Instead home care service in Hemel.

Her new children’s book, Alex and Lily Go on a Bear Hunt, is based around Lyndsey’s young son, Alex, and their West Highland terrier, Lily.

The story is about a teddy bear that goes missing from the nursery, so Alex and Lily go on a bear hunt to find it.

Along the way, Alex is helped by many of his favourite nursery rhyme characters, whose rhymes and songs help Alex and Lily to follow the trail of their runaway friend.

Lyndsey submitted her tale after seeing an advertisement from a publisher looking for writers to send in their stories.

Her work was accepted and illustrated, and is now on sale in Waterstones and on Amazon.
