A well-loved man who left a void in Wigginton after his sudden death this month will live on through the fundraising efforts of a village pub.

The village’s Greyhound pub is holding a collection in honour of Jeremy ‘Jez’ Collier, who sadly passed away aged just 51 after a heart attack on January 4.

Dad and grandad Jeremy – who leaves behind wife Rachel as well as family and friends – was a pillar of the Wigginton community, and those who knew him now wish to purchase at least one life-saving defibrillator in his name.

Greyhound landlady Natilee Batchelor said: “If a defibrillator machine had been available there may have been a different outcome for Jeremy. He was a very active member of our community – he hosted the Wigginton Fireworks for over 20 years and made them into the massive success they are today. People come from far and wide to enjoy them.

“He was also well known as the village FatherChristmas, donating all proceeds raised to charity. He was a very big part of our winning Crib team.

“Jez would do anything for anybody and has left a huge void in the village.”

To contribute towards the £1,200 needed for a defibrillator, pay into the collection at the Chesham Road pub.
