Felix, who plans to study chemistry at either Manchester or Sheffield, told the Gazette: “I was very pleased when I got my results, I wasn’t quite expecting this.

“Long-term I’d like to go into research, or work in either the oil industry or finance.”

School spokesman Chris Triplett said: “All or almost all of our students have either got their first choice university place or are taking a year out.

“We are very pleased with the results that are coming in, overall they are very good.

“This is only a very small year group but they seem to have done very well.”
