The Mudpack Challenge, which takes place at Ashridge House on Sunday in aid of the Berkhamsted-based hospice charity, is a contender in the Best Use of Events category.

Showcasing fundraising achievements from the past 12 months, the National Fundraising Awards recognise the best in fundraising excellence and best practice, and celebrate the work carried out by fundraisers in the UK.

The hospice shares its category with national charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support for its Brave the Shave campaign.

Hospice events manager Fran Martin said: “For our category, we had to provide a comparison of event income against the overall fundraising income for the hospice.

“Undoubtedly one of the reasons we were shortlisted was down to the generosity of local companies who have donated their products and services for free, ensuring our event had a return of investment of 1:17.”

Online registration for Mud Pack III closes tomorrow, Tuesday, or you can register by phone if you’d like to join 650 others tackling the adrenalin-fuelled five or 10-mile obstacle course.

Call the hospice on 01442 869555.
