It’ll be all light on the night for family’s walk

The Cosbys, who run Kent Brushes, will tackle the 10 mile route for the first time for The Hospice of St Francis’ Midnight Walk.

Director and grandmother-of-three Marcia Cosby will be joined by her daughters Ella, 36, Zoe, 32, and her son Ben, 39.

And they will light up their hand-made Kent Lady sculpture at the Apsley HQ to mark the event for when the walkers pass by.

Marcia said: “We’re delighted to be supporting our local Hospice at its flagship fundraising event.

“Not only by making our Kent Lady look even more eye-catching than usual with pink and green neon lights entwined in her galvanised steel frame but by taking part as a family and having a giggle.”

She said: “A friend spent his final days there a couple of years ago and I went to visit him.

“It is the most incredible place but the whole hospice movement is amazing and it should be available to everyone.

“We’re very happy as a local business and as local residents to do what we can to support.”

The walk starts from Hemel Hempstead School, through Apsley to the borders of Kings Langley, into Old Town, Warners End and Chaulden.

Nicky Maxwell-Braithwaite, events fundraiser for the hospice, said, “I’m absolutely delighted Kent Brushes will be supporting us and I know we’ll all be cheered on as we walk past the illuminated neon lady.”
