Producer and artist Richard West – better known as The Shamen’s frontman Mr C – will be performing a live set from 7pm to 10pm at Hemel’s XC Centre on Jarman Way.

Organiser Jean-Paul Mertinez, from Illumina Studios in Kings Langley, said: “It’s a big deal we’ve been able to do this – he’s a legend on the dance music scene.”

As well as being lead singer, Mr C was songwriter and producer for electronic dance group The Shamen, who had a string of top ten UK smash hits – the most famous being number one hit Ebeneezer Goode in 1992.

The group won the Ivor Novello award for Best UK Songwriters in the same year and their album Boss Drum went double platinum.

Mr C is the founder and owner of Plink Plonk Records, End Recordings and the Superfreq label, and opened legendary London nightclub The End in 1995.

Richard is currently recording solo as Mr.C, while also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf and with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.

He has had recent releases on Poker Flat, Get Physical Records and Adjunct Audio as well as his own Superfreq imprint.

Tickets cost £13 on the door for non-members (£12 if pre-booked) and include skating and climbing.
