A Hemel Hempstead fancy dress shop is encouraging people to ‘go blue’ to raise money for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

A Party Shop in Hemel Hempstead is supporting Harrison’s Fund’s Blue Hair Day campaign by giving supporters 20 per cent off blue wigs, and free delivery.

Blue Hair Day encourages people to don blue wigs and raise money for the charity.

Store manager Peter Walker said: “When we were approached by the charity to support them, we jumped at the chance.

“At our store, we are all about having fun and putting a smile on people’s faces with our party paraphernalia.

“What these young boys are going through is awful but they are trying to turn something bad into something positive and we are delighted to be part of that.”

All the money raised from the campaign will go towards, Harrison’s Fund, named after eight-year-old Harrison Smith from Surrey who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal genetic condition. See www.harrisonsfund.com
